We're on our way to Dublin today... Woo hoo!!!
After a scenic drive through North Wales had a quick stop at Betws-y-Coed before passing through the incomparable landscapes of Snowdonia National Park before heading over the spectacular Llanberis Pass and finally cross Britannia Bridge to the Isle of Anglesey. We stoped at the tongue-twisting town of Llanfair... (see below)
We then boarded our Irish Ferry (The Ulysses - the world's largest car ferry) for the trip across the Irish Sea from Holyhead to Dublin. The ferry was full of Manchester United fans who'd been at a game the day before. The trip took just over 3 hours and although there was a little bit of rain when we left Holyhead, it cleared up and the trip over was really smooth.
So we finally arrived at the hotel and it was a free night, so a group of us decided to wander up the road to the local pub "The Old Punch Bowl".
And yes, I did have a Guinness...
My traditional (???) Irish meal of Lasagna, chips and salad (and my new fav. Irish Drink "Bulmers Irish Cider"...
