...A full day to enjoy the city that's known throughout the world for its fashion, art and museums, delicious food, and joie de vivre. Included sightseeing with a Local Guide shows you the best-known sights: La Sorbonne, Arc de Triomphe, Opera, Madeleine, the Eiffel Tower, the Pyramid at the Louvre, Les Invalides, and the fabulous Champs-Elysees. Optional excursions are also available to enrich your experience in the "City of Light". To celebrate the success of your tour, don't miss the French farewell dinner party tonight. (B)
Our full day in Paris started off with an overcast and dreary day, not that the weather was going to stop me from enjoying one of my favorite cities. At breakfast we caught up with the rest of our tour group who were a bit jealous of the tour mum & I did last night. A couple of them even said 'we wish we would've known you were doing this as we would have done it as well'...
So the day started off with a bit of a sightseeing tour by bus. We stopped off at the Trocodero for the obligatory Eiffel Tower photos. I think Janos had planned to take a group photo here, but sadly the weather didn't co-operate. Afterwards it was off to visit Notre Dame Cathedral.
In the afternoon Mum & I joined the optional tour to historic Versailles, the beautiful restored palace of Louis XIV, the Sun King. We had a guided tour of the palace before strolling through the magnificent terraced gardens with their fountains and statues.

On returning to Paris we saw some more sights before heading to Montmartre, the heart of Bohemian Paris. We caught the funicular up to see Sacre-Coeur Church before having a hour or so to look around.
