...Included sightseeing with a Local Guide this morning starts with a tour featuring the State Opera, Parliament, and the Town Hall. Stop for a stroll in Heroes' Square to view the Hofburg Palace, winter residence of the Habsburgs. Finally, an inside visit of St. Stephen's Cathedral. This afternoon, free time to absorb the splendours of this magnificent city. Indulge in a slice of Sachertorte, take a ride in a Fiaker, or just a stroll through the Karntnerstrasse with its boutiques and coffee shops. This evening, music lovers won't want to miss taking in a concert in the "mecca" of classical music. (B)
It was a little overcast today, but that didn't stop our exploration of Vienna, the City of Music. We had a nice morning tour and saw the sights.

Our evening entertainment was a visit to Kursalon, which was built between 1865 and 1867. Classical Viennese music by the likes of the "Waltz King" Johann Strauss and his contemporaries were featured. Apart from the virtuosic musicians, opera singers and dancers were showcased.
Of course, no classical evening would be complete without a version of the famous "An der schönen blauen Donau" (otherwise known as the "Blue Danube") composed by one of Vienna's most famous musicians, Johann Strauss II in 1866.
