Up until the 73rd minute the game was in the balance with NSW hanging on to their half-time lead of 6-4. However, within the last six minutes, the Blues managed to pile on 12 points which saw the the final scoreline of 18-4.
The blues turned up ready to play, and their pure agression saw their mission accomplished as the Maroons were badly smashed up by the time the full-time whistle was blow.Injured Queenslanders included Greg Inglis (knee), Brent Tate (knee), Nate Myles (shoulder) and Karmichael Hunt (leg), but the courage award had to be given to Dallas Johnson who was knocked senseless in the opening tackle of the game.
